2. Eligibility:
(1) Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health with no infectious disease or any physical or mental diseases that may affect the normal study, have graduated from high school, and should be under the age of 30 (applicants under the age of 18 should submit the legal documents of their legal guardians in China. The documents should be notarized by the Chinese Embassy in the applicant’s country). Applicants must abide by Chinese laws and university regulations.
(2) Language Requirements:
(2.1) Students of Degree Programs (Chinese medium): New HSK 4 with the score of 180 or above ;
(2.2) Students of Degree Programs (English medium) (at least meets one of the following equivalents):
(a) Mother language is English;
(b) Official language is English;
(c) Graduate from high schools or universities in English-medium;
(d) TOEFL: 80 or above;TOEFL ESSIENCIALS: B2 or above;
(e) IELTS: 5.5 or above;
(f)Other proof of English proficiency.
(3) Chinese Proficiency Requirements upon graduation:
(a) Chinese taught program: HSK5 or above
(b) English taught program: HSK4 or above
3. Application Documents
(1) ZSTU International Students Application Form (Applicants have to log on the Online Application System
http://apply.zstu.edu.cn/ to fill the information online and print the form)
(2) A photocopy of your passport information page with personal signature
(3) A photocopy of your valid Visa or Residence Permit if you are already in China
(4) Notarized photocopy of highest diploma and Transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in Chinese or English.
(5) Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid.
(6) Copy of Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) or English Proficiency Certificates (if applicable)
(7) Study certificate with class attendance record and transcripts given by your host university if you are studying at another university in China
(8) Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the legal documents of their legal guardians inChina. The documents should be notarized by the Chinese Embassy in the applicant’s country.
(9) Five Recent Photos (white background, 35mm×45mm in size, the photos can be submitted while registration)
(10) Other Materials upon Request
4. Tuition and Fees (in RMB yuan)
(1) Application & Registration: 300 RMB
(2) Tuition:
(a) 15000/academic year (Liberal Arts)
(b) 18000/academic year (Sci.,Eng.)
(c) 22000/academic year (Art)
(3) On-campus Accommodation: (Accommodation is required to be paid per semester or per year. Each room is equipped with bathroom, furniture, beddings, A/C, fridge, ADSL, etc, and each floor is equipped with a public kitchen and a public laundry)
(a) 450/month.person Twin-bedded room;
(4) Fees for insurance: RMB 800/person·year,RMB、400/person·half year.
(Insurance coverage: Death Insurance, Accidental Disability Insurance, Medical Insurance for Accidental Injuries, Hospitalization Insurance for Accidental Injuries. The Insurance coverage is subject to final explanation of the Insurance Company)
(5) Other fees (e.g. Fees for study materials, residence permit application): Charged according to the actual cost.
5. Admission Procedure
Undergraduate applicants must take the China Scholastic Competency Assessment (hereinafter referred to as the "CSCA Test"), organized by the China Scholarship Council of the Ministry of Education, and obtain test scores.For detailed information and registration methods regarding the CSCA, please visit the official website (www.csca.cn).
(1) Online Application
a. Create an account on ZSTU International Student Online Application System (Website: http://apply.zstu.edu.cn/);
b. Complete the ZSTU Application Form for International Students Wishing to Study online during the application period;
c. Upload the required application materials such as passport copy, degree certificate, etc..
(2) Comprehensive Evaluation and Examination
a. Preliminary Evaluation: the School of International Education will initially evaluate the completeness and correctness of the materials submitted by the applicants;
b. Examination by Academic School: Applicants who pass the preliminary review will be forward to relevant academic schools for professional evaluation , in which interview may be conduct for certain programs. If interview is required, the detailed information will be notified in advance.
(3) Admission Confirmation
a. Admission results are determined based on a comprehensive evaluation and examination of application’s academic performance, language proficiency, other supporting materials and interview performance;
b. The School of International Education will send a pre-admission notice via email and receive the confirmation email from the applicants;
c. The School of International Education issues the Admission Notice and JW202 Form to the applicants.
About the CSCA Test
Test Subjects:
(I) Professional Chinese
Divided into two categories: Liberal Arts Chinese and Science Chinese. Applicants for Chinese-taught undergraduate programs must take the corresponding test based on their intended major.
The test is not required for applicants who apply for English-taught programs.
Students who apply Major of Chinese Language and Literature may be exempt from the CSCA if they can provide a valid HSK4 certificate
(II) Basic Subjects
Mathematics (Mandatory): Required for all majors.
Physics: Required for applicants to Applied Physics, Automation, Communication Engineering, and Big Data Management and Application.
Test Language:
Test papers are available in both Chinese and English. Applicants can choose the language version according to the medium of instruction of their intended program.
The first test session will be held on December 21, 2025, with registration opening in November 2025. For specific dates, please refer to the official website (www.csca.cn).
