1. Objective
This is a special program designed for international students from affiliated universities and organizations with ZSTU around the world to study Chinese language and Chinese culture. Successful students can utilize this as preparation to pursue degree programs at ZSTU or other Chinese universities in future.
2. Eligibility
1) Exchange students will continue as candidates for degrees at their home institution and will not be candidates for degrees at ZSTU. Exchange students are expected to return to their home institution to complete remaining degree requirements except when further agreement shall be reached by home and hosting institutions.
2) Students shall enterChinawith X1 visa or X2 visa.
3) Students do not suffer from any disease that makes them prohibited from studying inChinaby relevant Chinese laws and regulations.
3. Number of Students Accepted
Number of students from one university or organization: up to 10.
4. Period of Study: one semester
5. Tuition and Fees
1) Students from those universities or organizations affiliated with ZSTU through an academic or student exchange agreement or a memorandum, or from a university which is in the process of forming an agreement with ZSTU, will be exempt from application fee and one-semester’s tuition.
2) Round-trip international travel, all board and room costs, residence permit application fee, field trips and special expenses, and all personal expenses (books, travel, clothing, etc.) in the hosting country will be the responsibility of each student and/or his/her home institution. Exchange students must purchase insurance required by the Chinese government during their study at ZSTU. Whatever medical/health costs not covered by the insurance must be paid by the students.
6. Application Deadline (Deadline is subject to change, please refer to yearly notice):
(1) Spring Intake: December 31st of previous year
(2) Fall Intake: June 30th of current year
7. Application documents
(1) ZSTU International Students Application Form (Applicants have to log on the Online Application System http://apply.zstu.edu.cn/Index_en.aspx to fill the information online and print the form)
(2) A photocopy of your passport information page with personal signature
(3) A photocopy of your valid Visa or Residence Permit if you are already in China
(4) Notarized photocopy of highest diploma and Transcripts. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in Chinese or English.
(5) Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicants are invalid.
(6) Copy of Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) or English Proficiency Certificates (if applicable)
(7) Study certificate with class attendance record and transcripts given by your host university if you are studying at another university in China
(8) Applicants under the age of 18 should submit the legal documents of their legal guardians inChina. The documents should be notarized by the Chinese Embassy in the applicant’s country.
(9) Five Recent Photos (white background, 35mm×45mm in size, the photos can be submitted while registration)
