1. Categories:

This scholarship is available for students starting their undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree in any faculty at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University.

Students choosing English-medium undergraduate programs and a third language (French, English, etc.) are non-eligible.

Students applying for Chinese-medium Programs are supposed to meet the required Chinese proficiency requirement. Those who don’t meet the language requirement can take one-year complementary Chinese language course before they start their degree programs.

2. Application Requirements:

(1) Applicants must be U.S. citizens in good health with no infectious disease or any physical or mental diseases that may affect the normal study.

(2) Not be a registered student in Chinese universities at the time of application

(3) Be a senior high school degree holder under the age of 25 when applying for bachelor’s programs;

(4) Be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for master’s programs;

(5) Be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for doctoral programs.

(6) Receiving no other scholarship funds from China.

3. Scholarship Coverage

(1) Tuition and Registration Fee

(2) On campus dormitory accommodation (Water and Electricity Excluded)

(2.1) Twin-bedded room for undergraduate and master students

(2.2) Single-bedded room for PhD students

(3) Living Allowance: 

(3.1) CNY 2,500 per month for undergraduate students

(3.2) CNY 3,000 per month for Master students

(3.2) CNY 3,500 per month for PhD students

(4) Comprehensive medical care

(5) The scholarship duration specified in the Admission Letter, covering major study and Chinese language study, cannot be extended in general.

4. Application Procedure

Step 1:  Log on CSC online application system for international students to register at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn, click Application Online for International Students, fill in the application form.

Step 2: Submit application documents:

(1)      ZSTU International Students Application Form (Applicants have to log on the Online Application System http://apply.zstu.edu.cn/Index_en.aspx to fill the information online and print the form)

(2)      Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarships;

(3)      A photocopy of your passport information page with personal signature；

(4)      Highest diploma (notarized photocopy).Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in Chinese or English.

(5)      Notarized copy of transcripts. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with translations in Chinese or English.

(6)      Applicants for master or doctoral degree studies must submit two letters of recommendation by professors or associate professors.

(7)      Foreigner Physical Examination Report (the report is valid for 6 months)

(8)      Applicants under 18 should submit the legal documents of their legal guardians in China

(9)      Valid copy of HSK (if applicable)

(10)  Applicants for master or doctoral degree studies must submit a study or research plan in Chinese or in English
